I pride myself on perfection, but hey, I’m human, sometimes my hand slips when I’m glueing a piece and it’s not perfectly centred on its backing. Sometimes the laser misfires. Sometimes both those things happen on one piece, so into the ‘seconds stock’ box it goes!

James Webb Space Telescope pin badge

This is the second piece in my new collection of pin badges which pay tribute to some of the coolest telescopes around (which all started with my old favourite, the Lovell Telescope). It shows the eighteen super shiny mirrors of JWST, and uses a metal pin on the back to keep it firmly affixed to your coat or shirt.

This is probably the most optimistic of my telescope collection; JWST is currently scheduled to launch in 2021 if all goes to plan.

I laser cut and assemble every piece of these pins myself here in my Paris studio.
